Five adults and two children gathered together to start a fellowship on the sitting room of Rev. Chandra & Shanju Poudel on the Saturday morning of 20th August 2005. It was just a fellowship of just a handful native Nepali Christians who wanted to get some thing new and more then what the other Churches in Kathmandu were giving and teaching. This desire of some young adults Christians to get more and to know more about the word of God led them to gather themselves then to go other Churches. They wanted to move into more deeper understanding of the Bible, because they felt that they didn’t get spiritual foods for themselves on the Churches they were going, because the Bible studies there was not so effective and able enough to quench their spiritual thrust. They decided and gathered just five young people to know more about Jesus and none of them had ever thought that It would be the humble beginning of a vibrant and dynamic growing Church at Madhyapur Thimi of Kathmandu Valley of Nepal.
This small Bible Study group of some educated and visionary young men and women laid down the foundation of Fast Growing and Vibrant Church. At the end of 2006, Thimi Church became one of the most Mission Minded Churches of Nepal which distributed ten thousands of Gospel tracts, passed Thousands of Bibles and New Testaments in both Nepali and English to the people who can’t afford one for them, and our Leaders, Bible School students and believers shared the good news personally to hundreds.
Today, this Thimi Church has became the worship center for 100 regular attainders. We have run one small Bible School and one Orphanage. Lord has enabled us to start branch congregations in 12 different places of Nepal. We have translated and printed many books and booklets into Nepali and distributed to thousands of Nepali speaking Christians in Nepal and abroad. Our Magazine reached to 3000 families in Nepal, India and Bhutan.
It is our prayer and strong confidence that one day we can multiply as one of the Largest Churches of Nepal with ten thousands people to attend the worship service of our Church each week.
